Union College presents "The Last 10"

What would it have been like to witness and experience Nicodemus’ or Pilate’s last 10 minutes with Christ? What would our final moments with Him have been like if we could have personally interacted with Him before His death?  On April 23, “The Last 10,” a passion play based on the gospel of John, will depict seven scenes of Christ’s final days, from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem to His resurrection.

Each 10-minute scene will move viewers to a different location across Union College’s campus. The first showing starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Heartland Hall at College View Seventh-day Adventist Church. There are three groups of main characters, allowing the hour-and-a-half long play to start every half hour, with the final showing at 12:30 p.m.

Written and produced by students, “The Last 10” involves more than 70 students, employees and community members. “Christ’s entire life focus was on other people, even in his final moments,” said AJ Oetman, a senior English education major and the pageant producer. “This play asks what our focus will be in this lifetime.”

Admission is free and visitors may choose from seven different show times. Dress comfortably and aim to arrive 20 minutes prior to start time at Heartland Hall. All but one scene location is wheelchair accessible. Arrangements will be made for people who have difficulty walking.

College View Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 4801 Prescott Ave.
Heartland Hall is located on the church’s first floor, near the main entrance lobby.
