10th annual PlainSong Folk Festival theme is "Celebrate Nebraska" we will feature the finest Nebraska folk musicians performing all aspects of folk music, incuding the blues, bluegrass, celtic, oldtime folk,and native american music from 1:00 to 9:00pm. Instrumental workshops, children's activities, poetry, Artisian's Market Place, and additional features. Concession's will be open from12:30 to 6:30pm
Featuring
Paddywhack
A Lincoln based group that has performed folk music from the British Isles and North America for over 20 years. The band currently consists of Chris Sayre, Dave Marsh, Dan Newton and Terry Keefe.
Also presenting
Dr. John Walker and the New Hokum Boys A transplanted Okie who now calls Nebraska home, John Walker has been performing his brand of country-blues music for more than 30 years. Along with Pete Blakeslee, Nathan and Dave Morris who make up the band as the New Hokum Brothers.
Michael Murphy Welcome back! Native American flute player Michael is returning for another performance. His music will mesmerize the audience of his native sounds.
Rivertown String Band Plunge into a fast flowing, diverse musical experience with The Rivertown String Band as we play old time barn dance tunes, European folk melodies, Celtic and old Irish harp music, historical songs from America's past, and a splash of more contemporary folk music.
Sandy Creek Pickers Lincoln's Bluegrass at it's MAX! Sandy Creek Pickers have been around for 35 years and now have grown to a 6-piece band. The band consists of John, Mike and Gary Paul; John and Jason Shaw and last of all Dave Blakeslee.
