About the Lincoln Arts Council
Building the community through the arts ... it's how the Lincoln Arts Council is making Lincoln a better place to live. The Council supports arts organizations and working artists in Lincoln through a variety of programs and services. As Lincoln's central arts information point we provide information about the events, organizations, artists and programs that enrich the lives of residents and visitors, on this website and also through our monthly eNewsletter ArtScene Online. Looking for information about exciting arts projects done by community organizations? You'll find that here as well. We support arts advocacy efforts through providing information about the positive impact arts have on our youth, and also on our local economy.
Mission, vision statements, and core values
Our mission and vision statements are the driving force behind what we do. We also have core values that we uphold that are important as we work to inspire a creative community.
History
Lincoln Arts Council began in 1968 when a small group of community members with a common passion for the arts in Lincoln gathered. They formed an organization whose rich history of arts services and programs continues to evolve and meet the growing needs of arts organizations, artists and the community.
Services
Lincoln Arts Council was designated in 2006 as the City of Lincoln's agency for the arts, acting on behalf of the City in matters concerning the betterment of the arts in Lincoln, by Mayoral Executive Order.
