Nebraska's eminent folklorist, Roger Welsch, is leading a Lincoln Arts Council project to find and document folk artists among the 30,000 immigrants and refugees who have settled in Lincoln in recent years. Welsch's team, supported by the Office of the Mayor, cultural centers and numerous other partners, will survey, catalog and index the artists and will build bridges to connect them to the community. The effort is funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
