Arts Advocacy

Take Action Now!

You can be an advocate for the arts right here in Lincoln! Now is a great time to let Mayor Beutler know that you think the arts and the Lincoln Arts Council are vitally important to our city's future. The City of Lincoln funds a small portion of the Lincoln Arts Council's budget and voicing your support for the arts will help ensure that funding for the arts remains a priority.

We have made it easy for you to contact the Mayor and the City Council by providing you with email and mailing addresses, and a drafted letter that you can simply copy and paste and insert your name into. Click Here to take action and let your voice be heard!

Nebraskans for the Arts

As our state advocacy organization, Nebraskans for the Arts works to let our policymakers at the local, state, and national levels know that the arts mean business in Nebraska and that public funding is essential for the cultural health and economy in our state.

Americans for the Arts

Located in Washington D.C., Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. Celebrating its 50th year in 2010, Americans for the Arts is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts.  Located on the Americans for the Arts website, the Arts Action Center makes it easy to contact federal, state and local officials when arts issues come up that need our voice!

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
