Executive Director

As the Lincoln Arts Council's executive director, Deb Weber supervises a staff of four part-time employees and three full time AmeriCorps volunteers. Her current responsibilities as executive director include working with a diverse board of 27 community members. She maintains contact with more than 85 arts organizations and numerous individual artists. She is a powerful advocate for the arts in Lincoln.

Before becoming executive director in 2001, she provided free-lance consulting services for the council. In this capacity, she served as arts information specialist, developed the LAC databases, assisted with grants projects and helped to organize events.

She is a member of Rotary Club #14, Association of Non-Profit Executives, and was in Leadership Lincoln Fellows' Class XIX. She received the 2004 Nonprofit Executive of the Year Award.

Deb has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a minor in art. She continues to pursue her interest in art, particularly in handmade artists' books.
