We begin our 2012-13 Arts for the Soul season with a group that embodies “Seize the Day,” the Carpe Diem String Quartet. Defying easy classification,Carpe Diem continues to break boundaries and push the limits of the string quartet, arranging and performing music of many styles, including high-energy Gypsy, tango, folk, blues and jazz-inspired music. Their 2009 CD made the Grammy Awards Entry List in no fewer than four categories, including Best New Artist and Best Classical Album. Whether you are a fan of classical music, fiddle music, folk or jazz, you will be captivated by these imaginative and electrifying artists.
