Mayors Arts Awards a Great Success

2013 Mayor's Arts AwardsThe Lied Center's main stage was a very happy place on the 12th of June. Michele Tilley's marvelous invitation brought a capacity crowd to enjoy music, food and the delighted smiles from the awardees. A beautifully produced tongue-in-cheek video showed some shocking decision making at city hall, and introduced our award winners with a smile. As playful as he was in the video, Mayor Beutler was all business as he presented the awards, clearly enjoying the opportunity to celebrate the arts in Lincoln.

Our dear friend, the late William Stibor kept the evening moving along and on time with his usual grace and good humor. He has been the voice of the Mayor's Arts Awards, and the arts in Lincoln for some time and we are going to miss him a great deal. But on Wednesday the 12th, it was all about celebrating the accomplishments of this year's award winners with a particularly wonderful and festive evening. Go to ArtScene.org to learn more about this year's winners, and join us next year for Lincoln's best celebration of the arts.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
