About Jonah

Jonah Kelly is a senior at Lincoln Southeast High school and has been a member of the Wind Ensemble, top Jazz Ensemble, and Marching Band for four years. He was also chosen to be a featured soloist during the NMEA All State convention this past Fall. In addition, Jonah has played lead trumpet four years with the Young Lions All-Star band, and is a member of the Lincoln Youth Symphony holding the position of principal trumpet. This year, he has been chosen to perform as a senior soloist on the symphony’s final concert. He has been lead trumpet for the All-state Jazz Ensemble for all three years, has played with the Bobbi Layne orchestra and is currently a member of The Plymouth Brass (a local professional brass ensemble). Jonah has played at many jazz competitions throughout the region and last year was honored to receive the “Best Trumpet Player Award” at the Greeley Jazz Festival. He has worked diligently to become a semi-finalist at the National Trumpet Competition for the past two years.
