First Friday "Dog Days of Summer!"
Posted by: Troupe Sicorae
Featured this month are the acylic paintings of Joan Elizabeth Sangimino and the papier mache sculptures of Les M.
Joan has been creating art for over 30 years and has taught a variety of media at the college of continuing studies at Metro Community College during the 1980's. Her work ranges from extremely brightly-colored, whimsical pieces to darker, moodier works painted with highly textured surfaces and metallic accents.
Les has been creating her papier mache sculptures from "junk mail," thus making her pieces both intriguing and very "green." Les's works are slightly gothic with a strong humorous undertone. Les is also fond of metallic finishes and at times, her pieces appear to be "running up a wall" or "escaping!"
Come to see this wonderful show and see the wildly high-spirited, colorful belly dancers from Troupe Sicorae entertain with swirling skirts and tinkling zills! All ages welcome!!!!
There may be spontaneous hula-hooping involved!!
