The Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery is the only gallery of its kind in the region, featuring a dynamic program of exhibitions, lectures and workshops celebrating the diversity of textiles and fiber arts. The Gallery, located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus, offers exceptional opportunities to explore the full spectrum of textile arts.

The Friends of the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to stimulate interest in the Gallery and the historic collections in the Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Friends play a vital role in the activities of the Gallery by providing ongoing financial support, fundraising for special projects, educational outreach programs and workshops, and special events to extend the relationship between the Gallery and the community. The Friends provide the Gallery’s single largest source of annual funding. Membership dues help sustain this unique and innovative resource. Members also receive a subscription to the newsletter “Uncommon Threads,” advance notice for exhibitions, and discounted fees for publications and workshops by local and visiting artists. The Friends have helped the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery become an integral member of the local and regional art landscape and garner national attention.
