Artist opportunity: West Haymarket and Pinnacle Bank Arena

West Haymarket RFQThe West Haymarket area, a new development area near downtown Lincoln, is currently under construction. Plans for the new area include a new civic arena, community plaza, hotels, retail space, and parking spaces. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) of Artists is being sought for public art for three locations in this new development. The first is the plaza space in the foreground of the new arena. The second has two spaces for public art - a wall section and a bulkhead section in the arena lobby. The third location is a streetscape.

The deadline to submit for the RFQ is April 13. A stipend will be awarded to selected artists to submit a Request for Proposals due by June 8. These public art projects are anticipated to be completed by autumn of 2013. The current budget for public art exceeds $1,000,000.

Special Thanks

In 2009 the Lincoln Arts Council received a generous gift from the estate of Ken Good, a portion of which was used to redevelop our website and establish an endowment. We offer our heart-felt thanks to Kenneth J. Good for his generosity and vision for a beautiful future.
