Business: Closures - Remnants
From: Newton, KS
Melinda Hutton is a Jewelry Artist from Newton, KS. and has been creating recycled wearable art since 1994..."I was going green before it was cool to go green!". She uses antique & vintage buckles, buttons, cufflnks, costume jewelry, game pieces, typewriter keys, and "anything that holds still long enough" and reimagines them (with a bit of whimsy) into original designs. "My jewelry is a great conversation starter and so much fun to wear!"
I use RECYCLED antique & vintage buckles, buttons, cufflnks, costume jewelry, game pieces, typewriter keys and other misc.objects as my starting point for my jewelry. I then alter & re-imagine these items using grinding wheels, solder, beading, jewelery bond, resin, collage, metal stamping, wire wrap & WHIMSY ! Because I use actual antique and vintage items my mediums are ever changing & inspire me to showcase these amazing often overlooked pieces into original wearable art.
