My photography is always a work in progress. I first studied photography at the University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico. I was inspired by the works of Nitza Luna, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Pete Turner. I relocated to Chicago in 1992 to continue my studies and received a degree in photography from Columbia College, Chicago. Since then I have been showcasing my work in museums, galleries, and juried art fairs.
All images captured before 2013 are taken with traditional film cameras. In 2013, I started shooting digitally. I do all my own printing & framing & use only archival materials. In 2012 I create my "Delicates" series. The series is a reaction to being homesick for Puerto Rico during a long winter in Chicago. The images capture the tropical feeling that I remember from my childhood in P.R. All the images are from different conservation parks. The images are printed as limited editions of 250.
