Business: Infinity Art Glass
From: Benton, KS
I attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, a small liberal arts college. I have a degree in Biology Education, and I taught high school for several years before pursuing my love of art. I have been a professional artist for the past 15 years. I have over 100 galleries worldwide, though most of them are in the continental U.S. I create my art in a one-man studio, and I pride myself on creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that I make start to finish. I love my job and would love to share my artwork with you and the attendees of your fine art show!
There is more to handblown glass than just the end product. The beauty is in the process and creation. Each piece starts as sand and other chemicals and is heated to over 2000 degrees. The colors and accents are added to the pieces at this temperature. Every single piece is created one at a time through age-old Venetian techniques, precise marks, and brute strength. The pieces are then cooled slowly to room temperature to prevent shattering, carefully cut, and polished to perfection.
