I am an encaustic painter, working with molten pigmented wax. I use a heated palette and melt beeswax and damar resin. I add color to the medium and paint it onto a wood canvas. I then fuse between layers with a blow torch. I love this medium because of the wide range of applications...I can carve into it, embed things in it, scrape away to revel, as well as play with transparency and opacity. This exciting medium creates a painting that exhibits a translucent luminous glow.
