I am a Nebraska-based, multi-media artist current focusing on fluid media such as water marbling and alcohol inks. Natural elements are often the inspiration for my non-objective artworks. I love being able to share the joy of water-marbling on site with fair participants.
To create marbled works on silk or paper, I mix a carrageenan bath, modify acrylic paint to float on the bath, prep the paper or silk with a mordant and then drip color on to the bath, create the design and then pull the ‘print’ by placing the paper or silk on top of the water. I also create paintings using alcohol inks on yupo. Once the pairings are dry, they are sealed, mounted and given a resin coat. I also sets up a DIY marble booth for fair participants.
