The Art of Nature
My name is Denise Dendinger, I am 61 years old, and I live in Norfolk, NE. I am a housewife, and I have always had a love for flowers and plants, especially the exotics. I have been married 41 years to my husband Joel, I am the mother of three boys, Eric, Jake, and Jarod, and I have six grandchildren.
I learned of a process where leaves were used as a cast for concrete. A leaf so unique, only one of its kind.
Using wet sand to shape the leaf, a layer of concrete is placed over leaf, followed by wire for reinforcement, followed by another layer of concrete. After curing, I flip cast, remove leaf, and clean with grinder. I then prime and paint using metallic paints. Finishing with several coats of polyurethane.
