I create abstract art using various media and techniques, typically with warm earth tones and texture. Each piece is a new trial through exploration. I'm never sure how a piece will evolve but I do know that trusting the process and my instincts is essential in achieving a successful composition.
I primarily use acrylic paint, charcoal, texture compound, found papers and other media. My work is non-objective abstract inspired by abstract expressionism. I use varying techniques and tools to create my work as in rolling with a brayer, scraping with credit cards, removing paint with paper towels, and scratching with my fingers. Each piece is an experiment with paint, tools, materials, and techniques in an attempt to bring the elements together for a successful composition.
