I have lived in Lincoln since 2009, retiring from full time work in 2016. I have been a woodturner since I was very young. My basket illusion project started 5 years ago and I continue to look for new patterns and produce new pieces.
I make turned pieces on the wood lathe. I use wood found in Nebraska for many of my regular turned pieces. My Indian Style Baskets are made from maple purchased in Nebraska. Patterns come from actual Native American baskets, mostly from the Southwest US and California. This work is called a basket illusion process. The baskets are completed with India ink and a burning pen.
