Girl Scouts artVenture

Lincoln Community Foundation Art for Kids Award

artVenture is a unique celebration of creative expression. This program matches small groups of Girl Scouts (all levels) with professional artists for a collaborative, arts education experience.  Girls observe careers in the arts industry while also participating in philanthropy.  Working as a team from conception to completion, artists and girls create original artwork that is sold at the artVenture silent auction.  Professional artists also submit their own works into the auction, creating an even more spectacular, high quality art event.  Through artVenture, girls learn about art studios and being an artist and explore a new art medium and technique.  The 2020 Lincoln artVenture features artist is Carrie Strope who is in her ninth year as a collaborating artist.  The program and auction are coordinated by Misty Ahmic and Tracy Stewart, Girl Scouts Spirit of Spirit of Nebraska staff, and a volunteer Leadership Committee.
