For the past twenty years, Jack Parkhurst has been teaching at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Before arriving in Lincoln, he built thriving high school theatre programs that propelled him into teaching theatre at the university level where his focus has been in directing, acting, and analysis. He is responsible for inspiring many young student artists to pursue careers in theatre, as well as in education. When he started at Wesleyan, his charge was to help create a pre-professional theatre program. Working with the wonderful people already in place, he has helped to expand the theatre department from a dozen majors to over 100 students in a nationally recognized theatre program. This last year the program was named one of the top 25 BFA Acting programs in the country. Jack is fortunate to be surrounded by dynamic students and professionals that make the journey well worth taking.
