Sixty-two art and book lovers joined us for tapas at Southeast Community College’s renowned restaurant, Course, last night. Everyone enjoyed a culinary celebration of Sandra Cisneros’s novella A House on Mango Street. Linked2Literacy is celebrating this coming-of-age masterpiece throughout the spring, and this event brought us together to share the spirit of the American Dream and identity in food, art, and storytelling.
Guests decorated bookmarks and were captivated by moving stories written and shared by SCC writing students, who shared their own stories of place and memory.
