For the third year in a row, we have partnered with Lincoln Literacy to offer a summer camp to more than 40 children of immigrant families. In a celebration of diversity, acceptance, and assimilation, Anna Alcalde and her colleagues from Urban Legends Art Studio offered more than 10 creative and fun projects to children from around the world who now call Lincoln home. From friendship bracelets to dream catchers, self-portraits, and more, the week was memorable for everyone.
Special thanks to Lincoln Literacy, Lincoln Parks and Rec for offering the Bethany Park enclosed shelter for us to use, and to all the volunteers who shared their time.
