Click, Clack, Moo
Students in five elementary LPS schools were fortunate to experience Click, Clack, Moo a Theatreworks USA Professional Equity Tour production of the beloved children’s classic Click, Clack, Moo over the Lincoln Public Schools 2018 spring break.
This winter, BLIXT was approached by Theatreworks USA, a prestigious New York theatre company that specializes in theatre for young audiences. Circumstances had created an unexpected opportunity to bring a live version of the beloved children’s book, “Click, Clack, Moo” to Lincoln. Knowing that this story centers around themes of advocating for oneself, BLIXT knew they had to bring Click, Clack, Moo to Lincoln and came straight to the Lincoln Arts Council to collaborate! This quick action and partnership resulted in free performances of “Click, Clack, Moo” in 5 schools, which included audience members from 28 schools over spring break!
Artist Educators Becky Boesen and Petra Wahlqvist also hosted a two-day workshop at Clinton Elementary School focused on using the power of theatre to advocate for oneself. As one student stated, “I understand why the cows are fighting for blankets. Sometimes I’m cold at night, too.” The Lincoln Arts Council is currently collaboration with BLIXT in a community-wide blanket drive for Lincoln Public Schools, and this young student really drove home the need.
