transforming empty spaces into cultural hubs
Lincoln Arts’ Blank Canvas program aims to repurpose vacant commercial spaces and foster a dynamic cultural environment in downtown Lincoln by providing temporary art installations, galleries, studios, performance and rehearsal spaces.
We hope to transform these unused spaces into places that bring the community and arts together while also creating positive economic impact.
Empty Canvas will operate as a curated, rotating program, transforming empty commercial spaces into temporary art uses. Lincoln Arts will collaborate with the Downtown Lincoln Association, City of Lincoln, property owners, artists, and local businesses to create a downtown arts program ecosystem benefiting the entire community.
This ongoing project will work in partnership with Nelnet and the Downtown Lincoln Association, and through several step process will become a beacon of arts engagement as we continue our work on the Creative District.
