A lifelong appreciator of music, Daniel Martinez left his home in Peru to study musical arts as an international student. There, his appreciation for music developed into a passion so deep that he has dedicated his life to nurturing that same passion for music in Latino and Hispanic communities across the globe.
Daniel’s greatest impact, however, remains local. As frontman for the band Jarana and music instructor, he connects with Nebraska audiences and students alike through lively performances and instruction. From after school music lessons through Lincoln Public schools, to community concerts at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, to fundraisers for the Autism Family Network of Lincoln, Daniel has renewed passions for music and culture among residents of Nebraska’s capital.
Be it as a musician, a teacher, or a mentor, Daniel finds a way to connect with audiences on multiple levels. Through his music and enthusiastic stage presence, Daniel touches the hearts of all ages, races, and genders. He exemplifies the connective power of the arts–and that is a feat worth celebrating.
