The Mayor’s Arts Awards, hosted annually by the Lincoln Arts Council, are a prestigious recognition of individuals and organizations whose contributions enrich the cultural landscape of Lincoln.   • Recognizes excellence and accomplishment in literary forms such as writing, poetry, and prose.

  • Recognizes exceptional achievement in any arts discipline by a young person aged 18 or younger.

  • Highlights extraordinary service to the arts through behind-the-scenes efforts, crucial for the success of artistic endeavors.

  • Honors individuals, families, organizations, or businesses making significant financial contributions to support the arts community.

  • Recognizes special initiatives or dedicated efforts in arts education, promoting learning and engagement in the arts.

  • Celebrates individuals or organizations demonstrating outstanding volunteer dedication to the arts or making a substantial impact on Lincoln’s artistic community.

  • Acknowledges seniors (aged 55 and up) actively involved in creating, teaching, sharing, or inspiring artistic expression across various disciplines.

  • Honors individuals or organizations outside the arts professions whose leadership has enhanced arts activities and experiences for diverse groups, including children, older adults, new Americans, and individuals with special needs

  • Recognizes an arts group that has significantly enriched Lincoln’s arts community over an extended period

  • Commends a notable performance, exhibition, or project from the previous year (2023-24), whether online or live, that has left a lasting cultural impact on the community.
