upstArt Ukrainian Camp Brings Culture to a New Home

In partnership with Lincoln Literacy, Lincoln Arts’ upstArt program offered five days of cultural arts activities to more than 40 Ukrainians who have relocated to Lincoln. Participants were able to get a taste of home through traditional art, music, cooking, and dancing.

During one of the days, they shared their culture with their American compatriots at an outdoor concert in a local park–another Lincoln Arts offering; everyone was invited to paint a wooden door decoration cut to the shape of Nebraska–an old home for some, and new home for others.
